Feliz Cumpleanos Sean- Trenta y tres
33. Sounds SO old. Holy cow. Not only does he still have a sprained ankle but Sean got the ultimate birthday present on Friday... a vasectomy. He's really been enjoying frozen veggies this weekend. I even got to watch the surgery, awesome! I asked my sister in law Margaret(who works at the clinic) if I could watch, and she got the okay from the doc. I guess they don't usually let wives go in to watch because they baby their husbands too much and it can cause problems. Boy, they don't know this wife. But apparently Margaret does. She knew I wouldn't "baby". It was neato. They really wasn't much blood at all. The only gross part was the smell of burning flesh, and really that wasn't too bad.
On saturday we had a BBQ with friends and it was a lot of fun. Food, talking and kids splashing in the background. And more of the same on Sunday with family, but I forgot to break out the camera.

Tracy Aviary and Bountiful Pool
Sean's sister Heather was in town so away we went to Liberty Park for a picnic and then to Tracy Aviary. It was fun, but hot and humid. My girls were happy to get to spend some time with their cousins Becca and Jonathan who they don't see too often. (though Jon isn't in any pictures because he rarely leaves Heathers side) Phoebe was chasing the peacock and it was yelling "help, help"... kidding, but that's what peacocks sound like they are saying to me. We then went to the Bountiful pool and played there for 2 and 1/2 hours. It took Phoebe about an hour to warm up to playing the in water, then she didn't want to leave.

Hair again!
One year later (well 11 months really) and my hair is almost back! yeah! I learned that short hair is NOT for me. Too much work. Long hair is way easier. I also am done with bangs. I like how they look in pictures, but they are so unpractical and were always hanging in my face (maybe I should just chop any hair "hangin' in face" off like Daphne did). When my hair is short it just gets bigger and poofier. Barf. I went to just get a trim and the girl talked me into some "face framing strands" or something to that effect, but I like it. We'll see when I have to do it myself.
This picture cracks me up. I look like a spaz. I really hate self portraits. And even better I look like I have A big boob. I do not. I also hate how freckley I get in the summer. Oh well, what can I do? I love the sun, it just doesn't love me back. Or is it that it loves me too much? hmmm.
Holy freak! I just had a ear wig crawl across my foot, and then a little spider on my arm! Good thing I am now able to just KILL them with my bare hands. I know, i'm dangerous, watch out.

Daff's new do
I was sick of her crazy hair growing out weird from her self haircut, so I cut bangs. I know they are a bit crooked, that is where her hair is growing back. She looks so old now. I think it makes her hair look more red also, that or her hair IS just getting more red.

Our Hockey Dad, who only wears lipstick occasionally
Sean got his Happy Father's day 2 days early. His gift was at a neighbors house and since he's laid up right in the middle of the family room there was no sneaking it past him. So, I didn't even try. We set up the table and the girls had a blast. I love air hockey, so really was this a present for me? the kids? i'm sure we'll all enjoy it.
And yes, our basement is crazy person yellow. Not our doing. The people who lived here before us had to be clinically insane, or damn near close. They painted everything fluorescent colors. No joke, fluorescent. We just haven't gotten around to painting the basement yet, since we really don't use it much other than for storage. Once we get a some new couches upstairs we'll move the old one down and then i'm sure we'll use it more. Either way, the girls have been going down there everyday for about 1/2 an hour to play. Daphne still doesn't quite get that you can't put your other hand down or it really hurts when the puck hits you.

Dance! Dance!
Faye's dance recital. So glad it's over. We will NOT be doing it again next year. I don't know how some mom's do that running around for every single kid. Makes me crazy. Plus she would always fight me on going every SINGLE week. Then when I picked her up, it was "I had fun mom." Irritating. We're taking a year off from doing anything. Daphne is going to preschool, so that takes over that money slot. I must say though she looks a little too good all done up. Too bad I'm not some psycho pagaent mom, She's got great hair for it.

I love this kid... but not so much the big kid who keeps getting hurt.
he's done it yet again. Out of work for 5 weeks. And on crutches. Or should I say cane. He's preferring the grandpa cane so he can hit us and say "ya wippersnappers!"
He rolled his ankle after landing wrong while playing basketball at our neighbors. And he didn't even get the dunk. Lame.
The doctor said the good news was that is was not broken. The bad news: it's the worst kind of sprain you can get.
Pheebs cracks me up one minute and then I want to kill her the next. It's like Tom and Jerry. She loves to run away from me (while i'm trying to kill and eat her).
This is her daily uniform these days. I get her dressed and she immeadiately goes to the dress up clothes to find this little tutu frock or the U of U cheerleader outfit. She then wears it ALL day. If I even try to take it off it's like fighting a pit bull. She wins.

School's out for... ever!
Phoebe who had to be ejected from graduation proceedings.
The boy right behind Faye is named Charles. She showed me her autograph book and the only boy in there was this boy. Her little friend says "yeah, that's cuz she thinks he's hot!" And Faye proceeds to giggle. What the...? I actually think he looks a lot like my sister's son Logan. I guess I always had a crush on my cousin Christopher and wanted to marry him... at least she's gotten over Keenan, who is a double-cousin, which equal double creepy!
Faye is now a kindergarten graduate. We are so proud she's made it this far.

A whole Decade!
This is what we looked like when we first got married:
And this is how we look after 10 years of marriage:
We have not aged very well. I was really just too lazy to find any pictures of us and these are the only 2 I have on here (sorry i'm not one of those facebook people who constantly takes self-portriaits of myself... (hey, on that note, did anyone ever see that funny self portrait the girl took of herself in the bathroom and in the background there was poo in the toielt? Classic! google it)
Back to us, ten years really! I can't believe how fast it goes by. We have been through a lot over the years and even when I can't stand Sean, at the end of the day I know I love him more than anyone else (on this earth, wink, wink to ya mormons). I'm so thankful for him and the time in my life whence he came. I truly don't know if I would be active in the church today if it weren't for him. Funny thing is; he says the same thing about me. Either way you look at it we work well together, even when we don't. We are a lot the same in many things. We are both very sarcastic, which sometimes can be annoying. We've been around each other so long we often finish what the other person was saying. Yet, we are SO opposite when it comes to other things. Like organizing, attention to detail, etc. This will forever be our fights. I like things to be perfect and orderly. He always says things like "well it's good enough". My sister Nellie said it best the other day, she said something like "good enough" should never be in someone's vocabulary. (ya know, since her husband is Seans brother and all, damn Lingwalls!) In many ways he has rubbed off on me and me on him, naturally of course. I've gotten over my OCD and now my house gets messy and I realize it REALLY doesn't matter. And he is actually pretty clean. Finally. Sometimes if I have been lazy, which has been a lot since I had Phoebe (what's up with that 3rd kid?) he'll out of the blue sweep and mop the kitchen floor or do the dishes. He knows how much I hate dishes.
I can't imagine being married to anyone else, though I am thinking about asking him for another wife. One that will do the cleaning. I'll cook all day if someone will clean up after me.
I guess this post should go on and on about what a perfect, fabulous guy Sean is, but he isn't. And neither am I. And that's okay, we go together, and that's what works for us. We're not super smoozie, smoopy (remember Seinfeld) sentimental people, it's just not how we roll. But on that note I will say:
Smoochies sweethawt!
Okay, I had to find that picture. Enjoy: (and don't be offended by her lack of clothing.) "Do I Offend?" yep, another movie line.
