Sickie Sally & Chip N Dale

Daphne has been really sick, on and off all week. She threw up in the middle of the night on Tuesday, but then was fine on wednesday. Then yesterday she threw up about 4 times in the morning, slept all afternoon, then seemed fine again by evening. Well she came into our room at about 4:00 this morning, and again with the barfing! I hope she gets over this soon, I know she is miserable.

The second picture makes me laugh! Phoebe looks like Dale from Chip N Dale (the chipmunks, not sexy dancers!) And Faye looks kind of funny too.

I love the 3rd picture of Daphne... she just looks cute to me! Notice her underwear in the back, Phoebe's naked legs, and my leg showing a little garment.. ooh la la.

The last is of the girls being "Santa Clause" in the bathtub.

So, this is a whole new subject, but... does anyone cook anymore? I just went visiting teaching last night and I was telling her what we had for dinner (italian meatloaf) and she acted like it was something so extravagant... it is SO not! Her family was having taquitos (the kind you heat up in the microwave... However, i'm sure they don't always eat like that) and I admit we have crap sometimes too (like Wendy's on Tuesday!). Then last week I was talking about dinner with some other people and I was saying a couple recipes my family likes, and they acted like "WOW, you're some fancy chef"! I am NOTHING close to being "fancy", but I am finding more and more that no one hardly makes dinner anymore. What's up with that? Are we just getting too lazy?

Walking naked to the Alipsticks to eat some Robin noodles

Phoebe is walking... yeah! She started walking short distances about 2 weeks ago, and is now full-on. She is 100% average... 13.5 months old is the average age for a baby to walk. Faye and Daph walked much younger (10.5 and 11 months) so even though I wasn't worried, I still felt like she was slow! We've been watching a lot of the Olympics over the last couple weeks and I had no idea Daphne was paying any attention. Well I was looking at the newspaper on Tuesday and there were pics of Phelps swimming in the sports section. She says to me "Mom, this is the Alipsticks huh?" The next day I was asking Faye what she wanted for lunch and she says "How about Robin noodles." Either my kids have hearing problems or I need to speak clearer.
Do like how loud our TV is? My girls also have the radio on just up the stairs in the loft. It was loud.

STitches, StAirs and DoG biTes!

What a day....... where do I start, it's on these lovliest of days that I just love being a mom. At about 10:45 AM Daphne was running around the kitchen, pushing Phoebe's walking toy (which I always tell her not to do), when she slipped, fell forward, chin first onto the tile floor, slitting her chin open about an inch. So I get her to calm down, get a washrag on it and realize I have to go get Faye out of school (only half an hour early) to go get Daphne some stiches. Wait, forgot to add this part, So I call WeeCare peds, where I have taken my kids and they cannot get her in until later afternoon. Yea, I was not going to let her sit for 5 or 6 hours with a split open chin. So I ask if they have an Urgent care, she says "no" but that I might want to try Tanner Clinic. So I call there and say my daughter has a split open chin that i'm pretty sure is going to need stiches, and then ask "do I need an appointment?" The woman says "no, just bring her in". So I pick up Faye and off we go. We get there to find out it's not an urgent care facility after all, but the lady was nice enough to get us in to see a doctor. So, we finally get in, a nurse come in to look at it, then has me hold some sort of gel that is a numbing agent so they won't have to do the shots. We have been there for about an hour and a half at this point (and my kids are starving), finally the doctor come in to do the stitches. When he started Daphne was crying that she could feel it. So he has to resort to the shots after all. He gives her just a little of the shot and HOLY CRAP, she is strong, she started freaking out! They didn't have the arm and leg restraints, so they wrapped a sheet around her arms, then I had to hold them down, one nurse is holding her head, and another had to come in to hold her legs. Once she's restrained better the Dr. proceeds with the rest of the shots, then he starts right into the stitches... I think she felt the whole thing. She was thrashing and screaming and I could feel her wince when he would get a stitch in. I'm not usually one who can't handle things, but this was traumatic! All the while Faye and Phoebe are outside the room and I had Faye feeding her breath mints to occupy her. Finally it was over and she was all sweaty from being under the sterile paper (which I think also added to her being scared). I felt so worn out when it was finally over! Let's just say I won't EVER be going there again... the dr. didn't really seem comfortable with the whole thing and they did not seem like they knew what they were doing. Poor kid! But then we get into the car and she is right back to normal asking for a peanut butter sandwich.
Then about 5:00 Phoebe falls down the stairs! Luckily she feel just right (if that's really possible) that she didn't get hurt... that is until our neighbors stupid little dog bites her on the nose! It's a little maltese/shitzu mix, so nothing too scary, but still it drew some blood. Luckily the dog is up to date on all her shots, but Phoebe won't ever be that close again...... again, poor kid.
As for Faye, it was just another day........

KindeeGarten.

I can't believe I really have a kid in school. Now I feel old. before it was just, yea, i have kids... but now, I have a kid in school! She was so excited for her first "real" day. She got to go meet her classmates and had a day of testing last week, but she wanted me to leave. She kept saying, "when do I get to go to school and you go home?" Her teacher is Mrs. Pound, who I have heard a little about, mostly people have said she is more of a social teacher... whatever that is supposed to mean. Faye has one of her friends from church in her class, Kensey. I'm happy she already has a little friend, though she makes friends easily.
