The long and winding road

This is Phoebe's attempt at crawling... we call her Scooter. Poor girl, it takes her forever to get anywhere, i can't imagine how frustrating it must be. I really hate my voice on this, and even more so, my dorky laugh. This is a bit long, but it's for journaling purposes, and to show her later on... so we can laugh at how funny she crawled. Faye was also a crazy crawler. She scooted with one leg underneath, and used to other to move herself... kinda like a pirate. The leg that dragged on the floor was always chaffed. Daphne just crawled normal. At this age (almost 11 months) however, Faye and Daphne were already walking... Faye was 10 1/2 months and Daphne just about 11 months. Phoebe is always getting carried around the second she cries (Faye thinks she can't ever cry), so I don't think she has a need to be mobile... well, other than trying to get the cat. Wow, this is taking forever, now I remember why I don't put videos on here.

Never Say Never

So I always said I wasn't going to put "big" bows on my little girls' heads... well, I guess after the 3rd girl I have given in. I was really getting sick of gluing bows on her head and waiting for the KY to dry, so I decided to try headbands with little bows. Then last weekend I got together with some friends and we made our own bows. Here are how they turned out:

This is a little flower one
I made 3 of these for each girl

This is one of my favorites, but Phoebe doesn't have any blue and brown, so I guess now I just have to buy her some.
She was trying to climb on my lap.

TaGged by my siSter SuSan!

1. Link your tagger and list these rules on your blog
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
4. Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

7 random facts about me:

1. I like to set my clocks ahead 7 minutes, the microwave always for 33 or 37 seconds... never just 30. I just like things to end in 3 or 7... why? I don't know.

2. I still remember the smell of my Tiny Tears doll (which drank a bottle, cried real tears, and peed in her diaper!) I got for Christmas when I was 6 years old. Kind of a sweet plastic... I love it.

3. I am married to my sister's husbands brother... which is just a confusing way of saying my brother-in-law's brother. So my sister, Nellie and I are married to brothers. We went from being Brays to Lingwalls. (and she will tell you that she and Eric were married first, so that means SEan and I are the freakshows.) Our children are double cousins, but surprisingly don't look that much alike (though we both have blondes and redheads).

4. I used to love to draw/paint, and was pretty good at it, but was always intimidated by my sister Nellie, thinking she was better than me. I also, was very LAZY in high school and could have earned a scholarship for art in a portfolio class I had if I had just finished 3 more pieced of art!

5. I was only 5 classes (which came out to be 12 credits, I think) away from earning my associates degree, got a 4.0 my last semester, and then got married and never finished college... story of my life, i guess.

6. I now use decorating, painting rooms (well picking the colors out anyway... Sean does most of the painting), and occasionally crafty things (scapbooking, just made hairbows) as my creative outlet. (Someday I would like to start water-color painting again... but don't feel like I have the time at this point in my life)

7. When I was about 6 or 7 I was married to my childhood sweetheart, Troy Turner. The ceremony took place in my parents living room. My sister April gave me away, while my other sister, Nellie married us. My beautiful gown consisted of 2 pink seashells cut out of paper and taped to my chest, and a long flowering skirt. Fabulous!

The Finished Product

Daphne told Sean they needed to put flowers in the window box or she and Faye wouldn't like the playhouse.
They also thought the BIG empty cardboard box was great... well Phoebe not so much. Why is Daphne outside in underwear you might ask... just don't. She is always pantless, has messy hair 2 seconds after i have done it, changing her clothes fifty times a day, and always, always getting mud on her shoes. She has 3 pairs of muddy shoes on the front porch as I speak.
They love their new toy and even though Faye is so tall she has to duck to get in the door, on the inside she is still small enough she will enjoy it for a couple more years. They have played in it every single day since Sean put it up, and even had lunch in it yesterday. I always wanted a playhouse when i was little... what a bunch of spoiled brats!

At PeeWee's Playhouse...

This is my REAL mother's day present. Sean spent most of last Saturday putting this together. The girls just love it! We were planning on getting the girls a swingset from Walmart that was $600... but, when we were at Sam's Club they loved this little playhouse. So we decided to get the playhouse (300 bucks) and then just get a cheaper metal swingset for about 100 dollars. So in the end, it saved us $200, plus they get a playhouse AND a swingset... win win!

Faye's Preschool Program

This is one of the songs they performed at Faye's Preschool program. Notice that she is a GIANT! There is only one boy that is taller than her. Sorry for the crappy recording on my part... I was trying to get situated. Don't you love how all the kids are wiggling... the whole time?! I am such a dork and accidentally didn't record her speaking part and her song! (I thought I was recording, and then when we got home I realized I had turned it OFF when it was her turn and then turned it ON and recorded the floor!) It was the best one too, they all got crazy (which Faye is good at), and the song was about getting out their wiggles. Faye has really enjoyed Miss Jennifer, though she says she still misses Sandra about once a week. We are going to Crispy Creme Doughnuts on Wednesday for a fieldtrip... yum! Faye is so excited... she thinks dooughnuts are fabulous, everytime we go to Reams I use that to bribe her to be good (even though it doesn't work and she still gets one anyway, because I want one... can you believe I used to hate doughnuts in high school? I must've been crazy!)

I've decided to start the Tuesday Tell all...

"Making the decision to have a child is momentous.
It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking
around outside your body."

~Elizabeth Stone

Things I NEVER did until I became a Mom:
-Had someone yell at me "come wipe my bum!"
-Had to clean up blanket "tents"
-Nursed a baby
-changed so many diapers in one day
-Get so excited to watch one hour of TV after my kids have gone to bed
-Never THOUGHT freckles were cute... now I think they are SO cute on their adorable little noses
-Became a closet eater (ok, not in the closet, but when I have something I don't want to share because little kids just don't appreciate it, I hide it from them or eat it after they are out of sight!
-Do hair every day... (which usually includes some crying, yelling, and hair pulling, all the while trying to make it look "cute"... and to think Phoebe doesn't even have hair yet)
-Missed so much sleep... I love my sleep
-Been so paranoid about Child Molesters/Kidnappers/Creeps in general
-Worried... about everything
-Rocked a baby to sleep
-Had to tell another person: "don't eat stuff off the ground" "put your pants back on" "Don't eat your boogers"
-Had to say "I still love you, no matter what, even if you hate me"
-Held a little baby in my arms and felt like they were really a part of me
-Looked into 3 little girls eyes and saw reflections of my husband and myself
-Laughed so hard at all the little things my kids say (great example: 2 year old Faye telling our Bishop that "We don't say damn it, son of a b!tch, and jack a$$!" that was a particularly proud moment.)

Happy MOTHER'S Day to All of You!

I didn't know Adam looked like Johnny Depp...sweet!

This one was soooo good! I love that if you have glasses you all look alike. Also, do you notice Heather Locklear is on both Adams and mine? I guess Nellie's family equation for who you look like in your family must be right..;) I'm sure only April will get that one!

Wow... i'll take those!!!

Faye's celebrity look-a-likes

I think she probably looks the most like Audrey Tatu... she's the one that was in the Da Vinci code... I guess she also looks asian!

Daphne's Celebrity look-a-likes!

This was too funny... coincidentally this Daveigh girl was on mine and Faye's too. I love that she really does look like Janis Joplin in this pic... but that's not a good thing! And what's up with the men in there?

Is it really May?

I knew it looked cold outside today as we were sitting eating breakfast. I didn't think it was going to SNOW! Yes, it is snowing here ... ridiculous! I'm so sick of this crazy weather, I just want it to be warm! Why is it that spring in the past coule years is never pleasant? It's been this up and down weird weather. Must be Global Warming... I guess if we all went GREEN this wouldn't happen... LOL! I love it when it's about 65-70 degrees... is that too much to ask? This cute little robin was sitting on our back fence just chillin' in the snow!
