I really didn't think Daff looks that much like me, then I found this picture of me a couple of weeks ago (and it's my FB profile pic). Right next to each other, I guess she really does. I always thought she looked like Sean, but I think that also had to do more with her ornery demeaner (yes, Sean is ornery). The weird part is I found my 6 year old pic and it looks a ton like Faye. Yet Faye and Daphne don't look alike at all. Isn't it odd how it all works out.
Daphne said she didn't like my hair and that I smiled funny in this picture. She also said she was cuter.

Disgusting
Today while I was picking up Faye from kindergarten short day, one of her friends, named Kaydee (I know, seriously?), yells at her "I love you!" Faye looks at me, laughs, and then says "Disgusting!" Ah, it was funny. Then Daff says "You can't say that to girls, huh mom?" I told her you can, but most "normal" people do not. Well I didn't really say that, but thought it. Kaydee is a sweet girl, but a little slow on what we like to call the "social skills". I made Faye just say good bye and wave.
On another note I let the girls attempt to watch Gremlins the other day. Really I think they were just trying to show off for Faye's friend Kenzey who was here. They get to the part where the Gremlins are in kitchen cupboards and attacking the mom, then come running to find me and almost in tears. I know I shouldn't think it's funny, but I can't help myself. I turn in off and they go about playing with Barbies, make-up , etc. That night Faye ends up in our bed, and she is no small thing anymore. She is also a sleep talker, and while I was immersed in the shananigans of Harry Potter, she sits up and says "i'm 6, Daphne is 4, and Phoebe is 1". Good to know. That was all she said. Then last night we ended up with Daff in our bed. Stupid Gremlins! And they were even trying to get me to buy Gremlins 2 the other day at Walmart. I think they are like me and like to be scared, but then they regret it. The funny thing is they watch Lord of the Rings all the time with Sean. Now how is THAT not scary?

Easter... all weekend long.
We had a nice Easter, lots of egg hunts and lots of candy. I forgot to take pictures of their baskets, so they each received a movie (Barbie Thumbelina for Faye and Pinnochio for Daff, and somehow the Easter Bunny forgot to get Phoebe one, oopsy), a coloring book, an Usborne book (Princess and the Pea, Hansel and Gretl and the 3 Billy Goats Gruff.. I love these books) some sidewalk chalk, and a bit of candy. The Easter bunny and i have decided, together of course, that just a little candy will suffice.
I even did a family home evening last Monday about Easter and it's "real" meaning. I was so proud when I asked "what is Easter really about?" and Faye answered "it's when Jesus was ezzerected" close enough right? In the lesson I did an easter egg hunt, a Resurection Egg hunt. Inside the eggs were things like a a coin, a spear, a rock, thorns, a cross, etc. All with corresponding scriptures (shortened versions for my short-attention-spanned girls). I got the idea from this website whom I use all the time for FHE: http://nataliesfhespot.blogspot.com/
I love getting together with my family for holidays and always eat way more than I should. I can't resist the ham! And as much as I love eggs, after Saturday with Sean's family eating potato salad and baked beans, then egg salad sandwiched for lunch, and then AGAIN baked beans at my parents, on monday this house would have blown up if a match were lit. Glad I don't have a gas stove!

WARNING...DANGER AHEAD! THE TORPEDO IS COMING!

I was looking through pictures on my computer and found this and decided to share my lovely larger than life self on the eve of the birth of one Phoebe Eliza Lingwall. It's so unnatural, it's scary. I have told many friends of my protruding belly whilst prego, but no one can really appreciate the sheer mass until a picture is unveiled. My face looks aweful, (probably how I felt) and my arm looks kind of fat too, but nothing, I mean nothing, compares to that alien lifeform of a torso. And I wonder why I have stretch marks. And No, she was not a big baby; 6 lbs. 14 oz. I actually gained the least amount with her, about 32 lbs. So just imagine another 12 pounds on me, and that's where I was with Faye. Oh the bliss of child-bearing.
